A RICH, SUCCESSFUL MAN WHO FAILED

Introduction
A.
This man was a rich, successful farmer. V16
1. His land produced a good crop and he decided what to do with it. V18
2. He had no problem making a quick decision which serves as an insight
into his heart.
3. That night God interrupted his plans by telling him he would die that very
night.
4. God asked him, “then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?
B. Let’s consider four reasons this rich, successful man failed.
I. Because he left ________ out of his life.
A. Out of his planning. Vv 17,17, 19-emphasis on self.
1. God had given him all that he needed to become successful. Examples:

C. What about us? Attitude? Philosophy of life? John 6:38; Galatians 2:20

A. God called this successful farmer who was rich a fool. V20
B. We would be wise to learn these four principles: include God in our lives
(Romans 12:1-2), Help people in need (James 1:27), Don’t place emphasis
on materials that can’t satisfy (Luke 12:15) and obey God today (Mt. 6:33-34)
