BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED


  Introduction

        A.  The scriptures plainly teach that in baptism the penitent believer receives the
              remission of sins and finds a new life in Christ.  Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4

        B.  As a result, of what value is baptism to those who have already been baptized?

    I.  We should walk in newness of life because we have been baptized. Romans 6:4

        A.  We should not serve sin.  Romans 6:6,7,11-14

        B.  We should be servants of righteousness.  Romans 6:17-18,20-22

        C.  Why?  Because in baptism we were changed.

              Changed relationship. Galatians 3:26-27 (p861)

              Changed creature.  2 Corinthians 5:17 (p854) ; Ephesians 2:10 (p864)
             
              Changed condition.  Acts 2:38 (p802)

  II.  We should be in unity with fellow Christians because we have been baptized.
