CHRIST IS OUR EXAMPLE

  Introduction

       A.  If we follow the example of an individual, we know that he/she is imperfect. We

              might emulate his/her weakness.  Examples:

       B.  When we follow the example of Christ we know that we are following a perfect

              example.

       C.  Let’s note three ways in which we can emulate Jesus.

   I.  Christ is unselfish.  Romans 5:6-8 (832)

       A.  He sacrificed himself for us.

       B.  We also need to have an unselfish attitude.  Luke 9:23 (760)

       C.  Examples:

            1.  Philippians 2:1-8 (867); Matthew 28:19-29 (730)

  II.  Christ is compassionate.  Mark 1:41 (732)

      A.  He healed and went about doing good.  Acts 10:38 (811)

      B.  We are to be compassionate. 

      C.  Examples:  Galatians 6:1 (862), 7-10; James 2:14-17 (892)

III.  Christ is victorious.  1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (851)

      A.  Christ arose from the grave victorious over satan, sin and death.

      B.  We also are victorious.

      C.  Examples:  1 Corinthians 15:57-58; Romans 8:1-4, 13-39 (834)

Conclusion:  As we emulate Jesus, we are blessed in this life and we have ________ ___
