CONTINUE STEADFASTLY (Part Two)

   Introduction

        A.  Review:  About three thousand people were baptized and were instructed to continue to
                             practice ….. v42.  We have looked at continuing in the apostles’ doctrine and
                             fellowship.

        B.  This morning let’s focus on the other two practices.

  III.  These disciples were to continue in the breaking of bread.  (Lord’s Supper).

        A.  The instituting of the Lord’s Supper.  Matthew 26:26-29 (727)

              1.  By Jesus.  Vv26-27

              2.  Bread represents the body of Jesus. V26

              3.  Fruit of the vine represents the blood of Jesus. Vv27-28

         B.  The Lord’s Supper is a memorial.  1 Corinthians 11:23-25.  ______________________

               1.  We remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.  Matthew 27:35-56 (729)

         C.  The Lord’s Supper is a means of proclamation.  1 Corinthians 11:26 (847)

         D.  The Lord’s Supper is a means of spiritual  nourishment.  John 6:53-56,63 (785)

  IV.  The disciples according two Acts Two were to continue steadfastly in prayers.

         A.  Prayer is a tremendous privilege.  Hebrews 4:14-16 (885); James 5:16 (894);
               Matthew 18:19-20 (719)

         B.  Prayer is powerful.  James 5:16-18 (894); Philippians 4:6-7 (869)

         B.  It is not enough to have been baptized.  We must continue in the practices on which
               we have focused.
