DOING THE LORD’S WORK
1 Corinthians 15:58 (851)
Introduction
A. Remarks regarding the Lord’s work.
B. Hymn number 113
C. Let’s consider two attitudes that enable us to do the Lord’s work. 1 Cor. 15:58
I. The first attitude is conviction (steadfastness and immovability).
A. Conviction: “ …. being found guilty.” “ …. being persuaded or convinced.”
Unger’s Bible Dictionary
1. Negative sense. When an individual isn’t persuaded or convinced, the response
is almost always, “no.” Illustration
a. The Christians at Corinth. 1 Corinthians 1:10-13 (841); 8:4,7-8 (845)
2. Positive sense. Being persuaded and convinced. Illustration
a. The Christians in Ephesus. Ephesians 4:1-3,11-16 (865)
II. The second attitude is a mindset for consistency (always abounding).
A. Our consistent service (work for the Lord) should be from the heart. Eph. 6:6-8 (866)
B. ……… should be prioritized. Matthew 6:33 (707)
C. ……… should be fervent. Romans 12:11 (838)
Desire to be engaged in the Lord’s work. Where does it fit in my life? Should be done
with a wholehearted effort.
Conclusion
A. Engaging in the Lord’s work brings satisfaction here and in eternity.
