EDIFICATION OF THE CHURCH
                                                      Ephesians 4:11-16 (865)


  Introduction

       A.  The local church is made up of a group of Christians who worship God in a
              particular location.  1 Corinthians 1:2 (841)

       B.  In order for the local church to live and prosper as God would have, it is necessary
              for the members to receive edification, which is building up.  Ephesians 4:12,16 

       C.  Let’s consider for factors that contribute to the edification of the local church.

       A.  Must be committed to calling.  Eph. 4:1

       B.  Must be committed to proper attitudes.  Eph. 4:1-3

       B.  Must teach the portions of God’s word that reprove, rebuke and exhort.  2 Tim. 4:1-2

IV.  The members must be in agreement and involved.  Eph. 4: 1-3,16

       A.  Paul used the human body as a metaphor to teach this point.

Conclusion

       A.  God’s has a plan for the edification of the church.  In order for the church to live and
             prosper, His plan must be employed.
