D. Let us carefully note four ways (not inclusive) that God sustains us through His
Providence.
Body
I. God’s providence
A. Through God’s providence, He blesses us.
1. From Adam and Eve to the present: temporary blessings - Genesis 1:28,
James 1:17 and spiritual blessings - Ephesians 1:3
B. Through God’s providence, He directs us. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13
1. With His revealed word (2Timothy 3:16-17) and His Spirit (Rm. 8:14).
C. Through His providence, God protects us. John 10:29, Romans 8:30-34.
D. Through His providence, God corrects us. Hebrews 12:5-11
Conclusion
A. To ensure God’s providential care for us,
seek first His kingdom (Matt. 6:33), apply God’s revealed truth (James 2:22)
submit to God’s will (Romans 12:1-2) and in everything give thanks. 1
Thessalonians 5:18).
