         A.  Read Psalm 37:1-7;34-40
               1.  Sometimes we are tempted to envy the ungodly and their success.  Examples:
               2.  Friends, this is a mistake.  Psalm 37:20, 35-36
               3.  After death the ungodly will face the judgment.  Hebrews 9:27 (888).  And then
                    where will they be?
         B.  Our lesson is based on Psalm 37:5
     I.  “Commit you way to the Lord” v5

         A.  Some Christians insist on clinging to ___________ ways.  Examples:

         B.  If we are to enjoy God’s best, we must commit to God.  Luke 9:23 (760)

              1.  Deny self.  Must be willing to give up anything that would hinder us.
                   Repentance is required.

              2.  Take up our cross daily.  Must give our whole life to Christ.  Matthew
                   10:34-39 (711)

              3.  Follow Jesus.

   II.  “Trust also in Him,” Psalm 37:5

         A.  Trusting in God is a conscious dependence on Him.

         B.  A few things for which to trust God.

              1.  For salvation.  Acts 2:36-39 (802); 1 John 1:7,9 (899)

              2.  For necessities of life.  Matthew 6:25,33 (707)

              3.  For spiritual blessings.  Ephesians 1:3 (863)

              4.  For His love.  Romans 8:35-39 (835)

              5.  For an eternal reward.  1 Peter 1:3-5 (894)

  III.  “And He shall bring it to pass.”  Psalm 37:5

         A.  Because God has promised.  Hebrews 6: 10-20 (885):  His word and His oath.

Conclusion:  If you aren’t a Christian or a faithful Christian, you need to:  repent,
                     commit and trust the Lord and He will supply your need.
