A. Sometimes we _________ what is good. Examples: as parents, spouses, employees
and employers.
B. These duties and responsibilities are good within themselves, but we should not
allow them to have priority over our responsibilities to God.
1. Family shouldn’t come before our service to God. Matthew 10:3-37 (p711
2. Work shouldn’t come before the kingdom of God Luke 14:15
3. The cares of this world shouldn’t weigh us down and render us ineffective in the
Lord’s work. Luke 21:34
C. We should choose what is better. Here is the principle Matthew 6:33
The kingdom of God which is:
The righteousness of God which is:
Seek first which means: Make what God wants our #1 priority.
All these things: Provision (Mt. 6:25-33); providential care (Mk. 10:28-30)
Conclusion
A. When the Lord comes first, we become better parents, spouses, employees and
employers and we have the promise of eternal life.
