A RIVER RUNS THROUGH PARADISE
Revelation 22:1-2; 2:7
Introduction:
A. In Rev. 22:1-2, the apostle John describes for us a garden paradise. (describe)
B. This paradise symbolizes perfect enjoyment and all sufficient needs.
C. Let's look closely at its attractions.
I. The pure river of water of life v1
A. This river symbolizes eternal life
.
1. It flows out of the throne.
2. It is powerful.
3. It is pure.
4. It is ever-flowing.
II. The tree of life v2
A. The tree of life also symbolizes eternal life
.
1. It continually produces.
2. The leaves are for healing. Rev. 21:4
B. Adam and Eve lost paradise for us. Genesis 2: 8-10: 3:1-7,21-24 Christ regained it.
I Corinthians 15: 19-26; 50-58
III. There are three basic things necessary to the sustaining of life: water, food, and health.
God's provision of these in Heaven results in eternal life:
water: the river of life
food: fruit from the tree of life
health: The leaves of the tree of life
Conclusion:
A. There are beautiful bodies of water on Earth midst gorgeous scenery, but not one
can compare with the river of life that runs through the paradise of God.
