STANDING FIRM IN THE WORK OF THE LORD  
                  I Corinthians 15:58


  Introduction:
      A.  Do you ever get discouraged as you endeavor to serve God?  (probing questions)
       B.  As christians we have our spiritual highs and lows.  Peter is a good example.  Luke 22:33-
            34, Matthew 26:69-75
       C.  Let's listen carefully to God's message because we need to be encouraged, renewed,
            and revived.  (song: "Revive Us Again")

  I.  We must grow spiritually to the point that we stand firm in our service to God.  I Corinthians
      15:58, Ephesians 4:11-16 
       A.  We must understand that satan is __________  ________.Luke 22:31, I Peter 5:8
             I.  satan wants to render us ineffective for God's service. 
             2.  Ways:
       B.   We must not ' live in the _____________.'  Philippians 3:13-14
             1.  Change what we can.
             2.  Ask God's forgiveness if needed.  I John I:9
             3.  Press toward eternity.  Philippians 3:14
       C.   We must be _____________ about the future.  Philippians 3:13-14
             1.  Pray  James 5:16
             2.  Be faithful to do what we know we should.  James 4:17
             3.  Be encouraging to others.  I Corinthians 15:58

  Conclusion:
       A.   If every member were to pray, do what he/she knows he should, and encourage,                    then the work of the Lord would prosper here at Cold Springs.
       B.   My challenge to you:  I Peter 5: 10-11
