LIVING FOR GOD

  Introduction

         A.  James gives us an illustration concerning the longevity of life.  V14

         B.  Here is a question for each one here to ask:  “What am I doing with my life?”

     I.  The Bible teaches us that we must live a _______________ life.

         A.  When a person understands that he/she is dying, he is concerned with putting
                things in order.  Examples:

         B.  We must prepare for a matter much more important and that is appearing before
               Jesus on the Judgment Day.  Hebrews 9:27 (888); Acts 17:29-31 (818)

         C.  How do we prepare?

               1.  First, we must be a Christian. 

               2.  Read Acts 8:27-39 (808)

How does one become a Christian?  The same way that the eunuch became a Christian.

         1.  The eunuch was told to acknowledge his sins, believe on the Lord Jesus and confess.
              Yes or No
         2.  The eunuch was told to repeat the “sinner’s pray.”  Yes or No
         3.  He was told to “ask Jesus to come into his heart.”  Yes or No
         4.  The eunuch was told that he must believe.  Acts 8:37  Yes or No
         5.  He expressed his repentance.  Acts 8:36  Yes or No
         6.  The eunuch confessed his faith in Jesus.  Acts 8:37  Yes or No
         7.  He was baptized in water.  Acts 8:38-39  Yes or No

How should you become a Christian?  The same way the eunuch became a Christian.

         A.  Heaven is a prepared place for _______________ people.
