    Body

    I.  The miracles of Jesus were proof that He was from God.

        A.  The miracles convinced Nicodemus.  John 3:1-2

        B.  The miracles convinced people in Nain.  Luke 7:11-16

   II.  The miracles of Jesus portray Him as a man of pity (full of pity).

        A.  Jesus performed most of His miracles to relieve people in their distress.

             1.  He fed a hungry multitude.  Matthew 15:32-39

             2.  He opened the eyes of the blind.  Matthew 20:29-34

             3.  He raised a widow’s son.  Luke 7:11-16

             4.  He healed the afflicted.  Mark 9:17-27

             5.  He stilled the troubled sea and relieved the fears of His disciples.  Matthew  

                  8:23-27

             6.  He provided tribute money for Peter to pay taxes.  Matthew 17:24-27

             7.  Jesus manifested the love of God in the mighty miracles He performed.

  III.  The miracles of Jesus give us a glimpse of His Divine power.

          A.  His miracles were astonishing.  Mark 7:31-37

          B.  His miracles were instantaneous.  Matthew 8:1-3; Matthew 20:34; Mark 1:30

            

               1.  Only one exception.  Mark 8:22-26

          C.  His miracles were complete and full. 

          D.  His miracles were permanent.

          E.  His miracles were restorative. 

               1.  He restored speech (Matt. 9:32-33), sight (Matt. 20:29-34), hearing (Mark7:

                    32-35), life (John 11:43-44) and He strengthened withered limbs (Matt. 12:

                    10-13).
