ON TRIAL AS A CHRISTIAN (cont’d)

  Review

         A.  Let’s suppose again that enemies of Christianity have overtaken our country
and have put us on trial for being Christians..

         B.  We have noted two pieces of evidence that could be used to convict us:
               conversion and commitment to Jesus.

         C.  This morning let’s examine other pieces of evidence that could be used to
convict a person of being a Christian.

III.  A third piece of evidence is our conduct.  Philippians 1:27

          A.  Conduct toward other people.  Matthew 7:12; Matthew 5:14-16

          B.  Conduct toward our enemies.  Matthew 5:43-48

          C.  Conduct toward fellow Christians.  John 13:34-35

IV.  Another piece of evidence that could be used to convict a person of being a
          Christian is contentment.

          A.  Contentment is God sufficiency.  2 Corinthians 9:8-10

          B.  The apostle Paul is an excellent example.  Philippians 3:12-15; 4:11-12

    V.  Confidence in Jesus could also be used.  2 Timothy 1:12; 4:6-8;
          1 John 5:13-14

Conclusion

    A.  If you were brought to trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence
to convict you?  There’s A Great Day Coming.
