NEGOTIATING WITH GOD?
Jeremiah 10:23


  Introduction:
      A.  Negotiate, according to the Webster's New World Dictionary, means to confer or discuss with a view
            to reaching agreement.  Examples
      B.  Can we negotiate with God?

  I.   Three reasons why we can not:
      A.  God is always right.  Isaiah 14:26-27
      B.  God wants the best.  Romans 8:28,31-32
      C.  We have no bargaining.  power. Romans 3:23

  II.  There are people who try to negotiate with God.
      A.  The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector.  Luke 18:9-12,14
      B.  There are people today who try.
      C.  A reference to the Judgment Day.  Mt. 7:21-23

III.   Choices we have:
           limited blessings                                                           maximum blessings  Eph. 1:3  
           limited usefulness                                                         maximum usefulness  Phil. 1:6
           limited relationship                                                        maximum relationship  I John 1:7
           limited power                                                                maximum power  Eph. 3:20
           limited faith                                                                   maximum faith  James 2:17

  Conclusion:
      A.  There is no such thing as negotiating with God.  Then what should we do?
