Let's look at this story with a view of God's generosity. The owner represents God and the workers
represent _______.
I. God's generosity.
A. These workers were known as 'day workers.'
1. Since the owner understands their needs and since he needs workers, he hires them. vs 6-7
B. God is generous to US.
1. If we have been a christian for a few days or many years.
2. We share the same salvation, the same promises, the Holy Spirit, and the same spiritual
blessings are available.
C. Principle from Matthew 20:16----The first shall be last and the last shall be first. Equality
1. The Pharisees, to whom Jesus addressed this parable, were opposed to the offering of
salvation to prostitutes, tax collectors, and Gentiles. Luke 7:36-50 give us insight.
D. We tend to identify with the first workers because ________________________________
1. Jesus is teaching us about the generosity of God.
2. Our Heavenly Father treats all of His children as equals. Romans 1:16 ; Galatians 3: 26-28
