SPIRITUAL MALNUTRITION
                                                        1 Corinthians 3:1-2 (842)


  Introduction

       A.  This morning I want us to consider a condition afflicting some of the members of
             the church.

       B.  The condition is spiritual malnutrition, which is weakness resulting from an inadequate
             supply of spiritual food.

       C.  There were members in the church of Corinth who suffered from this spiritual illness.
             1 Corinthians 3:1-2

  I.  Let’s, first, note several ways in which malnourished Christians are weak.

      A.  They are weak in resistance to temptation.  1 Corinthians 10:13 (846)

      B.  Malnourished Christians are weak in their desire for spiritual food.  Matthew 5:6;
            1 Peter 2:2-3 (895)

      C.  These Christians are weak in spiritual exercise.  1 Timothy 4:8-10 (877);
            Hebrews 5:12-14 (885)

      D.  They are weak in their conscience.  1 Corinthians 8:4-5,9-13 (845)

II.  What should malnourished Christians do about their condition?

      A.  Acknowledge their condition.  Revelation 3:1-3 (906)  REMEMBER

      B.  Confess their spiritual illness.  1 John 1:9 (900)

      C.  Repent of malnutrition.  Revelation 3:14-19  REPENT

      D.  Start a new diet comprised of spiritual milk and food.  1 Peter 2:2-3

Conclusion

      A.  God can heal (Hosea 14:4) and Christ can strengthen (Philippians 4:13).
