THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE BELIEVERS
                                                       Acts 2:42; 1 John 1:7

  Introduction

        A.  The word “fellowship” in the New Testament means:

              1.  Communication.  Galatians 6:6
              2.  Contribution.  Romans 15:26
              3.  Communion.  1 Corinthians 10:16
              4.  Fellowship.  Philippians 1:5
              5.  It is a sharing in common, mutual interest, mutual activity and partnership.

        B.  The Christians in the Jerusalem church devoted themselves to fellowship. Acts
              2:42

        C.  Ways in which believers are to fellowship:

    I.  Worship.  Acts 2:42

        A.  Worship binds us to Christ and to one another.  1 Corinthians 10:14-15, 21, 16-
              17

              1.  “Common” and “union.”

              2.  We share the cup and the bread as we commune with Christ.

        B.  Other avenues of worship we share:

   II.  Work.  1 Corinthians 3:4-9

        A.  We are God’s fellow workers.  Examples:  Paul and Apollos; Christians in
              Philippi.  Philippians 1:3-7

  III.  Good times and bad times.  Romans 12:15  Examples:

  IV.  ¬¬¬Association.  Acts 2:42,46

  V.  Promise of eternal life.  1 Peter 1:3-5
