TO WHICH KINGDOM DO I BELONG?

  Introduction

        A.  We know based on God’s word that there are two spiritual kingdoms.  (refer to
               handout)

         satan’s kingdom                                                 God’s kingdom
         1.  Darkness (evil)  John 3:19-20 (p781)           1.  Light (righteousness)  John 3:21
         2.  Death (eternal)  Matthew 8:12 (p708)          2.  Life (eternal)  Matthew 8:11

        B.  When we determine who regulates our lives, we’ll know to which kingdom we
              belong.

    I.  Let’s note the desire of these two leaders.

        A.  satan’s desire is to steal, kill and destroy.  John 10:7-10 (p789); Eph. 2:1-3
              (p863)

        B.  Jesus’ desire is to give eternal  life.  John 10:10; Ephesians 2:4-6
          
   II.  The strength of these two leaders.

        A.  satan is strong.  Luke 11:21; Eph. 2:2-5; 1 Peter 5:8

        B.  Jesus is stronger.  Luke 11:22; Eph. 2:4-6

  III.  Our response should be to follow Jesus.

        A. There is no neutral ground in our response to Jesus.  Luke 11:23

        B.  We must repent if we aren’t following Jesus.  Luke 11:24-26; 9:23

        C.  We must be born  again.  John 3:3-8 (p781)

        D.  We must obey Jesus and follow Him.  Mathew 28:18-20 (p730)

  Conclusion

        A.  When we obey Jesus and follow Him we are citizens of God’s kingdom
        B.   Do you have the need to belong to God’s kingdom?
