WHEN DEMANDS OF LIFE SEEM OVERWHELMING
                                                               Psalm 55 (449)


   Introduction

        A.  Questions:  Do you ever feel that life is out of control, have too many decisions,
              that the demands of life seem overwhelming?

              1.  What are we to do?

        B.  Let’s use King David as an example of how he dealt with his problems.  Vv 1-5

   I.  God wants us to stay in the battle.  Vv6-7

       A.  There are people who try to escape reality.  Examples:

             1.  Some try to escape physically.

             2.  Others try to escape chemically.

             3.  Some try to escape ultimately.

             4.  There are people who refuse to let others help.  Galatians 6:1-2 (862)

       B.  The appropriate decision:  STAY where we are and use what we have available.

             1.  Examples:

       A.  Pray often.  Vv 16-17

       B.  Pray earnestly.  V17

       C.  Pray confidently.  Vv 22,18,19

       A.  STAY and PRAY

       B.  Realize that we must deal with our situation, with God’s help, because no one else
             can do it for us.
