GOD'S AMAZING GRACE (Part VI)

                            II Peter 3:17-18

  Introduction:

      A.  Review

    

  I.  Three more reasons why it is necessary for christians to be encouraged to grow in grace:

      C.  Because the grace of God enables us to do the Lord's work.

           1.  Every christian has been given grace according to the gifts of God.  Ephesians 4:7

           2.  God has given us sufficient grace.  II Corinthians 9:8; 12:9

           3.  God works in us.  Philippians 2:12-13

           4.  Paul credited his ministry to God's grace.  I Corinthians 15:10

      D.  Because the grace of God forgives us when we sin.  I John 1:9,7

            1.  Through confession and walking in God's light, God cleanses (continually) from all sins

                 and unrighteousness.

            2.  Since God forgives us,  we are never justified in giving up.

      E.   3.  Because the grace of God provides for us a home in Heaven.  I Peter 1: 9-10,

                 I Peter 5:10, I Peter 1:3-5

  Conclusion:

      A.   God's grace is available all the way to and in eternity through Jesus our Lord.  Romans 5:20-21
