THE CONDITION OF MY HEART
Matthew 13: 1-9, 18-23
   
  Introduction:

       A.  "Doctor, what's the condition of my heart?"
       B.  Jesus has been referred to as the great physician.
             Matthew 9: 10-12
       C.  "The heart of the matter is the matter of the heart."
   I. Jesus, what is the condition of my heart?
        A. Do I have a hard heart (not receptive) ? vv 4, 19
             1.  This type of heart hears the word of God, but isn't
                 interested.  It doesn't receive the word.
       B.  Do I have a stony heart (no root) ?  vv 5,6,20,21
             1.  This kind of heart receives the word, but there is
                   no permanent impression.
       C.  Do I have a crowded heart (no room) ?  vv7, 22
             1.  This type of heart takes the word, but is full of
                  worldly cares. No fruit.
       D.  Do I have a good and honest heart (bears fruit) ?  vv 8, 23
             1.  This kind of heart receives the word of God,
                  applies the  word, and the word produces fruit.
       F.  Do I have a heart problem?
  II.  How do we have our hearts repaired?
       A.  We must ask the great physician to change  our heart. 
             Matthew 13: 13-16, Romans 10:17
       B.  We must apply the word of God. 
             Romans 6: 17-18
       C.  We must live an obedient life.  Matt  7: 21-27

  Conclusion:
       A.  To have heart surgery, we must allow Jesus to
             teach us, we must apply the principles of God's word,
            and we must remain obedient.
