GOD IS FOR US

Psalm 56:9-11, Romans 8:31

  Introduction:

        A.  Have you ever had to take an unpopular stand thinking your friends              would stand with you?

       B.  But to your surprise, you hand to stand alone?  How did you feel?

       C.  Paul had an experience like this.  II Timothy 4:14-16

       D.  Jesus had a similar experience.

   I.  The lesson principle:  We know that God is for us.  Psalm 56:9-11,              Romans 8:31

       A.  The BIBLE teaches it.

            1.  We have a special dignity.  Genesis 1:26-27

            2.  We are God's representative.  Genesis 1:26-27

            3.  God has given us His Spirit.  Acts 5:32; Romans 8:9-16,26-27

       B.  We are in CHRIST.  Galatians 3:26-27

            1.  There is no condemnation.  Romans 8:1, I John 1:7

       C.  God answers prayers.

            1.  When we ask in faith.  James 1:5-8

            2.  When we are persistent.  Matthew 7:7-11

       D.  How should we respond to God's being for us?

            1.  No fear and doubt.  II Timothy 1: 7

            2.  Be bold in defending the Truth.  Acts 4:113-14

            3.  Be assured of the sustenance of life.  Matthew 6:33

            4.  Be courageous.  II Timothy 1:12

            5.  Be assured of a home in Heaven.  John 14:1-3

  Conclusion:

       A.  Friends and neighbors might not stand with us, but God will .                       Romans 8:31
