HONORING OUR SENIOR CITIZENS
Leviticus 19: 1-3, 32
Introduction:
A. We want to recognize and honor our senior citizens.
B. There are circles in our society in which senior citizens
don't receive the respect that
they deserve. Examples.
C. We expect a different attitude among those who are
children of God.
I. God has always taught His people to be respectful of others.
A. God provided certain laws of respect for the Israelites.

B. The Apostle Paul instructed the young man Timothy the
proper treatment for church members. 1 Timothy 5 and 6.
C. The apostle Peter and the Apostle Paul taught honor for
all people. 1 Peter 2:17; Romans 13: 7.
II. A senior citizen should conduct himself/herself so as to
deserve respect. Titus 2: 1-5. The individual should ask:
III. Several ways to honor and respect our senior citizens:
A. Be aware of their presence Lev. 19: 32 (NIV)
B. Be considerate even when there is a disagreement.

D. Be financially supportive if needed.

E. Be eager to learn from their wisdom and experiences. Titus 2: 3-5 as example.
Conclusion:
A. God teaches us to honor and respect our senior citizens
and we should take advantage of ever opportunity we
have.
