A SAD OUTLOOK FOR THOSE WHO REJECT JESUS
John 8:13,19,21-24
Introduction:
A. The Pharisees verbally confront Jesus.
B. Jesus makes four statements to them, 1) "I am going away." 2) "You will look for me." 3) "You
will die in your sins." and 4) "Where I go, you cannot come."
Let's look closely at each statement and make application.
II. "I am going away."
A. Did Jesus allow the opposition to hinder Him? Not at all. John 6:38 : Luke 19:10
B. How do we respond when we are criticized?
III. "You will look for me."
A. Jesus knew the Pharisees would continue their confrontations.
B. satan will continue to confront us.
1. By stealing the word from our hearts. Luke 8:11-12
2. By hindering our service. I Thess. 2:18
C. God has given us power to overcome. II Tim. 1:7
III. "You will die in your sins."
A. Jesus knew the Pharisees would never believe.
B. Why should we not want to die in our sins? Romans 6"23 ; II Thess. 1:7-9
IV. "Where I go, you cannot come."
A. Cannot go to Heaven. Heb. 12:14-15 ; II Peter 1:
V. Application
A. Will we continue our MINISTRY ? Ephesians 4:11-13, 15-16
B. Why do we LOOK for Jesus? Heb. 12:1-3
C. Those who do not believe in Jesus will die in a CONDEMNED state. II Thess. 1:7-9
D. Heaven is a prepared place for PREPARED people. I Peter I:3-5
1. Example of person being saved. Acts 8: 35-39
