JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD

                                                                Revelation 1:4-6

  Introduction.

      A.  In this passage addressed to the seven churches of Asia Minor, there are             three truths concerning our savior Jesus Christ that I want us to consider.

  I.  The first truth.  Who He is.  Rev. 1:5

      A.  He is the faithful witness.

           1. Jesus tells or reveals to us God.

               a.  The Power of God.  John 3:2, Romans 1:16

               b.  The Love  of God.  John 3:16, Romans 5:8

               c.  The Wisdom of God.  I Peter 3:18

               d.  The Hatred  of God for sin.  Romans 6:23, Matthew 27:46

      B.  He is the first begotten from the Dead  I Corinthians 15:20-23

      C.  He is the prince of the kings of the earth.  Ephesians 1:20-23

  II.  The second truth.  What He did for us.  Rev. 1:5

      A.  He Loved  us.  John 15:13

      B.  He washed us from our sins in His own blood.  I Peter 1: 18-19

      C.  How we identify with His sacrifice for us.  Romans 6:3-6

  III.  The third truth.  What He made us. Rev. 1:6

      A.  Kings

      B.  Priests  I Peter 2:5,9

  Conclusion

      A.  What should these three truths about Jesus do for us?  They should                      edify, encourage, and motivate us to strengthen

            our faith and live our convictions.
