JESUS, THE GREATEST GIFT

John 3:16-17

  Introduction:

        A.  God loves us so much (to such a degree) that He gave the greatest gift

              possible, his only begotten Son.  John 3:16

         B.  Salvation is through the person of Jesus Christ.  Romans 6:23

I want us to note four indispensable facts that attests to the divinity of Jesus.

    I.   His birth.  Matthew 1: 18,21-23

          A.  Never before or since has a member of the Godhead become human flesh.

               1.  Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.  v.18

               2.  Mary was a virgin when she conceived.  v.23

          B.  The birth of Jesus was a miracle.

   II.   His life.  I Peter 2:22-23

          A.  Jesus lived a perfect life. 

          B.  He lived a selfish life.  Matthew 20:24-28

          C.  Jesus went about doing good.  Acts 10:38

  III.  His teaching. Matthew 7:28-29

          A.  Jesus was distinguished from all other teachers.  John 7:46

          B.  Why?  John 8:28-32

    IV.  His works.

           A.  Jesus is the only one who could have died for our.  That is why He

                came.  Matthew 1:18, Luke 2:25-35, John 1:29, Luke 23:33-38, I Cor.

                15:3-4

            B.  After His resurrection, Jesus ascended to Heaven.  Luke 24:46-51

    Conclusion:

            A. The birth, life, teaching and works of Jesus attest to His divinity.
